Things that make me cry. πŸ˜

It’s… been quite a year. I remember 2020 being exceptionally hard, as we were dealing with a lot of changes, fears, and anxieties. But 2021 felt like it went by in a flash, mostly because I’ve kept myself so busy with work. While it actually was a good year for me, filled with many happy moments and accomplishments, I was feeling the need to slow down as the new year came up.

One way that I deal with a lot of mixed, complicated emotions is just sitting in bed and crying. Even if I have some positive emotions thrown in there, they can still be overwhelming, and it helps to let them out in the form of tears. Of course, I can’t just cry on command (I’m amazed that actors are able to do that!), so I have go-to things that I watch or listen to to get the waterworks goin’. Here are a few of those things I recently revisited.

Movie scenes:

  • Good Will Hunting – “It’s not your fault” scene (Watch here)
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Ending scene (Watch here)
  • Titanic – Pretty much anything in the second half (Example here)

TV show scenes:

  • Supernatural – Dean describes hell (Watch here)
  • Boy Meets World – Mr. Turner’s accident (Watch here)
  • The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – Will’s dad leaves (Watch here)

K-drama scenes:

  • 18 Again – Ending narration (Episode 16, around 1:03:00)
  • Itaewon Class – Saeroyi dreams of his dad (Episode 15, around 36:40)
  • Reply 1988 – Taek misses his mom (Episode 2, around 1:13:00)

Songs:

Books:

Weird to say, but I hope in 2022, I cry more. Whether I’m watching a sad K-drama, listening to an emotional ballad, or just having a stressful day. But, of course, I also hope for more smiles and laughs to balance it out. Into the new year we go~!
